We work to reduce crime and the fear of crime within Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton.

We serve a population of some 1.7 million people and supervise 7,000 offenders a year.

 

Main responsibilities for a staff of 600-700 include:

Providing courts with information and advice on offenders.

 

Supervising the community sentences the courts impose

to tackle issues like persistent offending, sex offending and domestic violence.

 

Assisting in prisons. We have teams in five prisons in the area. Any one sentenced to 12 months or more also has probation supervision after release.
